About bridges

Dental bridges are used to anchor false teeth between natural teeth or dental implants to fill a space left by missing teeth. This can be one or more crowns made into a single unit and attached to neighbouring teeth or wings that bond to the backs of neighbouring teeth to hold a bridge in place.

How is a bridge fitted?

  1. At your first appointment, your dentist will examine your teeth and jaw. If you have strong enough teeth with good bone support, then a bridge could be a great option to restore your smile
  2. An impression or scan will be taken of your mouth, from which a plaster or digital model will be built of your teeth and gums to enable your dentist to understand how your teeth bite together
  3. The teeth either side of the gap will need to be reduced in size to fit the fixings and accommodate the bridge so it fits well and sits comfortably in your mouth
